Murphy for Governor Announces Participation in General Election Debates

TRENTON — Murphy for Governor today announced that Governor Phil Murphy will participate in two anticipated general election debates as part of New Jersey’s Gubernatorial Public Financing Program. The debates will give voters a clear choice in November to build on Governor Murphy’s progress to move New Jersey forward or go back to the failed old ways with Republican gubernatorial nominee Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli.

During his first term, Governor Murphy has fought to raise wages for working families, invest in public schools and stronger infrastructure, and for an economy that works for all New Jerseyans, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

Throughout the Republican Primary, Christie-era Trenton insider Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli has consistently aligned himself with Trump’s extreme agenda — including headlining a “Stop the Steal Rally,” praising Trump’s policies as “very successful,” refusing to denounce the candidacy of Oath Keeper candidate Ed Durfee, and opposing funding for women’s health care

“I’m eager to participate in a robust conversation to highlight our strong track record of accomplishments that are uplifting working families and moving New Jersey forward,” said Governor Murphy. ”While Assemblyman Ciattarelli is focused on rolling back our progress, we’re committed to delivering on our pledge to make New Jersey stronger, fairer, and more resilient, and we know our work isn’t done yet.”
